Overview
Medivive Telehealth Services is committed to providing safe, compliant, and convenient prescription services. This policy outlines our procedures, legal compliance, and important disclosures to protect both our patients and our practice.
Prescription Fulfillment
- Delivery Options: Prescriptions can be mailed to your home or sent electronically to a pharmacy within our network, which includes most major pharmacies. Delivery times depend on your location and local regulations.
- Prescription Limitations: Some medications may not be available for mail delivery due to regulatory restrictions. In such cases, you will be directed to a local pharmacy or referred to an in-person provider.
Medical Necessity & Compliance
- Evaluation Process: Prescriptions are issued only after a thorough evaluation by a licensed provider. Our providers determine medical necessity based on your health needs, history, and lab results if required.
- Legal Compliance: All prescriptions are issued in accordance with state and federal laws. Medivive ensures that all medications are prescribed appropriately and safely.
- Controlled Substances: Medivive does not prescribe controlled substances through telehealth. For these medications, an in-person visit with a healthcare provider is required.
Lab Work Requirements
- Certain Medications: For medications that impact hormone levels or require regular monitoring, lab work may be necessary before a prescription is issued.
- Compliance: Lab results must be reviewed by your provider before issuing or renewing prescriptions for these types of medications.
Referrals and In-Person Visits
- Referral Process: If your health condition requires an in-person evaluation, Medivive will provide a referral to a local provider. We maintain a network of trusted healthcare professionals to ensure continuity of care.
- Provider Directory: Our referral network includes providers who meet Medivive’s standards for quality and patient care.
Important Disclosures
- No Guarantee of Prescription: Receiving a consultation through Medivive does not guarantee that a prescription will be issued. Medications are prescribed only when clinically appropriate.
- Prescription Denial: If a prescription is denied, your provider will explain the reasoning and suggest alternative treatment options.
